Relive the Discovery of the Americas and the Exploration of the World

Many facsimile reproductions we deal with focus on Latin America and the discovery of the Americas, including documents written by Christopher Columbus, The Book of Marco Polo, and manuscripts related to Magellan's expedition around the world.

As well as browsing through our groups of maps and books of literatures, you'll also want to look at:

  • The Tabula Americae Collection: Image of America, a series of books and other documents that make up the most important bibliographical legacy of the commemoration of the fifth centenary of the discovery of America. This collection is a true bibliographical jewel, because of the precision and beauty of the reproductions and because of its important documentary value

  • The Thesaurus Americae Collection, which includes one treasure from each of the countries which achieved independence at the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th centuries. Chroniclers of the Indies adventure wrote some of these works. Others are scientific studies on flora and fauna; some are poetical works, while others are pedagogical texts.  The main architect of this collection is Belisario Betancur, former president of Colombia and an indefatigable promoter of cultural projects. The technical director is César Olmos, a publisher of international renown
